Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) “Drone” Audit Checklist
Unique characteristics of UAS (or drones), as compared to manned aircraft require examination of special conditions, which may not be associate with manned aircraft.
This checklist is designed to assist the auditor in the audit and assessment of an organization’s sUAS (or drone) operations through the audit of the air operator’s (e.g., drone operations) various functional areas.
The scope of the audit will include all activities that could affect the safe operation of the organization’s sUAS program, including, but not limited to:
1. Flight training operations (including equipment, personnel, policies, procedures, logs, etc.)
2. Operational control system (including equipment, personnel, policies, procedures, logs, etc.)
3. Safety, risk management and overall controls associated with maintaining compliant flight operations
