Course Description

Data Analytics: Improving the Practice of Internal Audit and Enterprise-wide Operations, is a continuation of the examination into the increasingly vital role that data analytics plays in today’s dynamic, global organizations.

Discussion will focus on the examining the step-by-step data analysis process. Specific examples including assessing customer sentiment toward company products and services, examination of bonus payments scams and credit card fraud, will be presented to demonstrate the application of the data analytic process to these enterprise-wide business issues.

Also demonstrated and discussed will be the process of visualizing the resulting, analyzed data, for presentation to management.

Audience

This course is intended for internal and external audit professionals, project managers, system and business analysts, end user decision makers, operations personnel, and those professionals who desire a sound understanding of data analysis applications and have an interest in assessing and establishing well-designed data analytic programs, be it for public, private enterprises or government agencies.

Objectives

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

Examine how the enterprise, including internal audit may use data analytics as a proactive tool in assessing organizational operations, internal controls, risk, and fraud
Become familiar with the creation of full text indexes through the examination of example Twitter data for further analysis of customer perception of organization value.
Visualize the results of a data analysis examination through the use of SAP Predictive Analytics.
Explain the use of analytics in decision making (scorecards and dashboards.
Interpret and present visually, orally and in written form, valid conclusions drawn from data analysis.
