Course Description
Ethical decision-making refers to the process of evaluating and choosing among alternatives in a manner consistent with ethical principles. In making ethical decisions, it is necessary to perceive and eliminate unethical options and select the best ethical alternative.

Decision making is part of problem solving, and decision making occurs at every step of the problem-solving process.

This course will examine the timely and vital topic of ethics and its relevance and importance to overall corporate and personal wellbeing.  In particular, what factors influence ethical decision making and what this means to management, the organization, the community, the individual and to organizational, internal business controls in general.

Audience
This course is intended for anyone who wishes to understand the impact that unethical business decisions and practices have on organizational behavior, culture, work communities and business processes.  For individuals interested in learning how to evaluate decisions and actions, ethically.
Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Determine the role that personal values play in driving individual employee choices and decisions.
  2. Understand more fully how personal ethical beliefs are related to traditional ethical frameworks.
  3. List the steps in the ethical decision making process.
  4. Identify the criteria for ethical decision making.
  5. Distinguish the difference between virtues, morals and ethics.
  6. Comprehend what leads people to behave unethically.

Use specific tests to determine the ethics of a decision.
